Who can operate scanfrost cookers and oven?
Kindly help me on how to operate this my oven (PICTURED BELOW), which side I should turn the knob to for cake baking and for how many minutes. The 2 cakes I baked ended up burnt and sunken.
Please help out, you can help me ask our WC blog family if you don’t know
. My sister’s birthday is next weekend and I have to bake a birthday cake for her.

My dear in the absence of a manual from the 1st knob (ie knob on the left) you can see various sizes of flame, the smallest flame is the lowest heat and the biggest flame is the highest, bake your cakes on moderate heat and don’t open your oven until the aroma of the cake fills your kitchen (@ this point your cake has risen completely) also make sure you follow your recipe accurate and only fill your pan 3/4.

so here’s how it works….
1st of all u need to know the oven only works with gas not electricity.
2nd that thing at the top(inside d oven) is for the grill and those vent-like holes at the bottom is for the oven
Now to light the oven simply turn the knob to the oven diagram(d one on the left) PRESS THE KNOB DOWN,then light a long match/lighter(i used broom.lol) and put it inside one of those plenty small vent-like holes at the side bottom of the oven and voila! ur oven would light up!
Its same for the grill only difference its u turn the knob to the grill diagram PRESS THE KNOB DOWN and the light ur match n put it BY THE SIDE of the burner at the top of the oven and that’s it!
key things are
1-MAKE SURE U PRESS THE KNOB DOWN WHILE U PUT THE LIGHTED MATCH/LIGHTER INTO THE BOTTOM GAS VENT OR TOP BURNER
2- make sure u put the lighted match AT THE SIDE of the grill burner(to light the grill) and inside on of the vent-like holes(the holes r plenty on both sides.lol) NOT the big hole at the center like most other ovens.

Na fairly used or you no sabi read? It has a manual and ure expected to read before operating it. The pic isn't even clear so how we for know na
some manuals don't give detailed description of use for a particular kind of food and in some cases the manuals get misplaced… this person is obviously stranded and feels she could get help fast here, lets help instead of bashing please.
If u don't have a manual u can do a google search to get it. Just type in "scanfrost manual" or "enter the model No + manual" it should come up.
I'll suggest you go to the website (google it)of Scanfrost oven and search for your oven make. It should have instructions on what degree to turn ur oven knob for different cooking purposes.
Incase you still don't find help on their website then they should have a customer servive number you can phone for help.

In addition, check through the glass to see if it has risen before opening the oven. Once you are sure it has risen fully, you can start checking it occasionally for when your cake would be baked completely (the way you check if your rice you're boiling is dry). Just do the exact same thing. Once sure it's all baked, bring it out.

I wish you luck with that. I have never had to read a manual to operate an oven in my entire life. Basically most all ovens come with 2 dials, one that should read; bake, broil, convection and self-clean, so you select what you will be doing with the oven, and the other dial should show you the temperature grade, so you can select how hot you want it to be. What the hell is this? This cooker is too much.

I have a worse problem with the same appliance. I can't turn it on. Please original poster how did you get your oven to ignite? All my other burners and the hot plate are working ok. When I turn the oven control knob, I can hear the hissing sound of gas but it doesn't ignite with a match or the electronic igniter. What am I doing wrong?

I just bought a scanfrost cooker with oven over the weekend and till now, I have not been able to ignite the burner not to talk of the oven. The manual is really trash and not helpful. I will have to return the stuff and go with my normal table top burner since I have a microwave oven with griller
Make sure it's connected to a power supply.
the best thing to do is to get an oven thermometer and place it inside the oven. Then you watch the reading of the thermometer as it increases to the required temperature perhaps 160 – 180 degree for scanfrost cake baking. Just keep watch at the thermometer to maintain the required temperature. Note: place the thermometer inside the inner part of the oven to get the required temperature.

I have the same cooker and would like to add that it you could also easily light the oven by putting your lighted match/broom or kitchen gas-lighter (not the lighter for cigar oh!) through the round hole just in front of the bottom gas vent.
I needed info on how to light the grill and reading your input just helped. More power to you.

@Adeosun Moses have you been able to put on your gas oven? I was scanfrost cooker but can't on the oven. somebody should please help me out
Thank God I stumbled on this. We have tried for so long to get the grill working. I only just found out that the top burner is the grill, we have been thinking it's the oven. Worse thing is that the inscription around the dial has worn off. Thanks for the poster that made the instructions clear enough . Now I know the bottom burner which Is d oven and the top which I thought was the oven is the grill.

i cant keep calm ,i have a scanfrost gas oven for oven 6years now and i still bake with stove who does that all because all effeort to use it proved abortive ,i have even invited a baker who tried and told me this is different she cant operate it,just yesterday i stumbled on this post and read previous comments viola i see solution to my problem ,am here to testify that i can know use my oven in peace courtsey of @wivestownhallconnection fans comment you guys are the best ….love you all… keep doing the good work momma love you

@toyin, I just stumbled on this page too. The manual is rubbish. There is attually a vent for the matches. It is just at the ends of the silver plates. Just put ur lighter at the ends or tip of the silver plates. Left or right side of the plates.
The manual does not help at all. I had come here to operate my oven. The ignition lighter does not work for the oven or grill, if it had, owners of scan frost cooker will not be confused or disappointed.
