why I couldn’t really post here. Okay, when you are on a weight loss program and at the same time your family chef, it’s hard but possible sha. Imagine cooking all those delicious carbs for the kids and men, then going for something light. That’s one of those reasons that made it hard for me to lose weight in the past.
After cooking, mummy must taste na , abi na family slave I be? But, not anymore.
Yesterday Sunday, I cooked all those colourful Sunday fried rice and Sunday macaroni posted below but made my okro pepper soup.
That’s what I ate for lunch and dinner to help my body regain balance after all the chop bellefull to take medications. I won’t even go near that scale until this weekend or midweek sef.

OKRA PEPPER SOUP FOR MY WEIGHT LOSS
HOW TO MAKE OKRA PEPPER SOUP
Nigerian okra pepper soup is easy to make. Good for weight loss. The picture below is my okra pepper soup being measured for my meal.
HOW I MAKE OKRA PEPPER SOUP:
- First I cut the okra
- Make the soup base with fish, pepper and seasoning.
- Okra pepper soup is best cooked without oil.
- Okra comes in last. What makes this pepper soup is the quantity of pepper added to the okra soup and the light consistency. Okra is just sprinkled. Not thick at all. Uziza leaves are great for pepper soups including okra pepper soup. I add them for extra flavour and spice. Even though locust beans is not added to Nigerian pepper soups, it tastes good in okra pepper soup. To lose weight with okra pepper soup, eat it without the swallows.
TINGREDIENTS FOR OKRA PEPPER SOUP
I used:
- Okra vegetables
- Uziza leaves
- Fresh pepper
- Salt
- Dadawa
- (Locust beans)
- Seasoning cubes
- Mackerel (Titus fish)
- Water
