Sweet Dodo With Fresh Fish Sauce. Dodo served with peppered fresh fish sauce is one delicacy that I can eat whether in the morning, afternoon or evening. It is so tasty and enjoyable. The fresh fish sauce has to
have enough pepper and be served hot. It ‘s very fast to cook and serve. This dish came in handy at a time when I wasn’t in a cooking mood. It is a very busy day, I am too tired to go cook anything. All I did for them was bring out the fresh fish sauce from the freezer, allow to defrost, while they fry their dodo.
This fish was too big to be cleared in one sitting. If you doubt me, see the fish HERE. Preserving left overs in the freezer is one good way to avoid cooking every day.
For how to make this fresh fish sauce, GO HERE

I love this, the fish makes the ripe plantain healthy. Eya sef, is it everyday you cook? Don't make me finish my family with too much food Please. Yesterday I made shawarma, everybody enjoyed it. Courtesy of you Eya. Who would have thought that I can save money by just making my own yummy shawarma in the kitchen.

So, my sticky tape is still this effective? thanks for letting me know.
No Mrs ET, I don't cook every day. I still have pictures I haven't yet posted on the blog. I post those when there is nothing to cook. Now you know my little secret huh?

Thanks Mufasa. You can just boil your fish with salt and onion, then prepare the sauce/gravy, pour into the fish pot and continue to simmer.
Hi Teekay, we cannot survive on apples and egg plants alone dearie. Smaller portions will help us.
If only we can avoid the temptation of eating until we belch.
Well done Priscy.
Thank you for sharing.
To thicken.
Thank you Chioma. We give all the glory to God.

I ate fried plantain recently, love it!
Hello eya, goodmorn. My 3 month old baby had woken me up around 3am and while surfing Linda ikeji's blog saw your blog site and WOW am I impressed. I can bet you will go places. In support of your good work(and believe me when I say that I love seeing women who are creative), I can offer you some tips to help you grow in this line of business. First of all, I love your descriptive prowess but you need to improve the look of your finished product. Go for pure white ceramic plates. The different colours of your dish will pop out better that way. You can google a bit on photography to learn how best to zoom your ingredients and finished food to have a life of its own and to look more inviting. Again, invest a little money N4800 to get the DSTV bouquet that allows you to watch the Food Network channel and competitive shows like Top Chef in Series channel etc I watch them everyday and I have learnt a whole lot especially in terms of presenting my finished food to make it more appealing.
If it is not too much trouble, i also want to ask that you consider making me a silent partner. I browse the net a lot and can help you in research etc. Most importantly, I can see a huge potential in what you are doing and it's my prayer that God grants you the perseverance and grace to get to the peak.
I am not asking for any pay since my main aim is to learn from you and you from me and we'll see how it goes. My phone number is 08054450317
Yes Mary, I wash all my vegetables before chopping.
Madam Eya,no food 2day?
Is it compulsory,I am yoruba and we don't put thickeners in food.
Sorry dear, can we eat leftovers today?
Thank you Debby, smaller portions won't hurt us.
Oh Shallie, hope you enjoyed your late night cooking?
Hehehehe? I'd love to see those pics pleaeaeaease.
Hahaha Myne, who gave you dodo at obodo Oyibo?
Thanks dear, I didn't know DSTV subscription is now #4800.I have been paying over #11000 monthly for my PVR Decoder.
Sorry Anon, #11000 was the old rate. Now I subscribe with over #12000 to enable me enjoy my barefoot contessa at the same time that my kids are watching Scooby doo.
Gravy is not amala and ewedu dear, it is cooked with a little thickener. However, that doesn't stop us from adapting different recipes to what we enjoy.
@Anon in as much as it is ok to criticize i believe every person has their style there are millions of blogs that have all those awesome presentations you talk about but people come here because we can relate to Aunty Eya and her down to earth attitude..I live in the UK and i can say i watch all the cookery shows from masterchef,to barefoot contessa, topchef, gordon ramsey kitchen Nitemares,Hell Kitchen,Jamie Oliver name them and if you watch Jamie Oliver you would know he isnt one for fancy presentations i recommend you watch Jamie's 15 mins meal you can watch online at 40D you would now what am saying..but all in all i still come here for Aunty Eya what am saying in all is People relate to the people and the person that she is and we are not bothered about any fancy stuff dont get me wrong its good to develop but in all aunty Eya dont loose your essence there is a reason why people find it easy to relate to you and your recipes please do not let anyone take your shine off you(why is she saying am not asking for pay that means it may even had crossed your mind)
Aunty Eya please do your thing the way you want, the way you think best and the vision you had for your blog when you started should not be deterred or altered by any comments..
Thank you.
Ok guys, I hear u all n agree that eya's blog is indeed unique in its own way, but dt doesn't mean that there is no room for improvement *winks*. Eya, the 4800 is for poor people like me o. That way, I get to watch my food network and d kids can watch their disney channel so it's kind of a win win. I really can't afford to go higher.
Oh well, Good luck in your endeavours. Keep being original but remember, there is always room for improvement.
Thanks Creative Mom, yes dear, there is still room for improvement.
About DSTV subscription. I never would have said that here. Some people just have a way of screwing one's buttons until you say what you never planned on saying.
I am sorry, but again, don't blame me o. blame the one that started it all. Scroll up and read her comments and let me know how you would have responded.
I will continue to improve I promise.
yes i did Aunty Eya..thanks lots..
Wow!! Didn't knw u took the above comment badly considering that the person that wrote the comment is also me 'Creative Mom'. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding. It wasn't my intent to cause any discord. I only mentioned the 4800 cos it's what I can afford and wasn't in anyway saying dt you can't afford it or anything. Oh well, I guess I should watch what I say from now onwards. Take care
So it's you Creative Mom. You did nothing wrong dear. You know words are powerful. You tried your best to help me, it's just that misunderstanding came as a result of the way you said it.
If I saw that in my mail box, I won't feel the way it felt seeing something that is supposed to be a personal message displayed publicly. You know, you wrote like someone who knows me already, and knows that I can't afford Cable Television or something.
Read that comment again, and imagine that someone left it for you.
You have good intentions, the way the message came is what caused misunderstanding.
I am truly sorry about my response. I guess I wasn't in a great mood when I typed.
Cheers Creative Mom.
Hehehehehehe! Eya, I'm laffing my head off. You always have answers. I kinda knew 'Creative Mom' was the Anonymous. Creative mom, I know u meant well, but construction goes a very long way..anyways thankfully, u guys now understand each oda, plsss, come back, don't stay away..the more d merrier! Eya's answer jumped outta my head b4 I even read her comment..I guess we are sisters from far away..lolz! Eya pls we want food ooooo!! We don't want leftovers today jor…*sadface*
Lol…I LOVE this blog…actually reading and re-reading the comments / counter-comments…Shallie Shallie..I comment my reserve.
Glad all is 'settled'. I think Creative Mom meant well with her comments but then 'presentation' still matters afterall. Methink it would have come better as a suggestion and better still such is meant to be sent in an email and not necessarily as a comment for general consumption. Just my opinion.
Eya, keep doing good. We 'gbadun' your blog and style; however, plenty room dey for improvement like earler noted.
Cheers all.
