So Anxious To See My Baby, Please I Need Help

Pls aunty Eya, i need u to post dis 4 me and i need an urgent reply cos am really worried. Pls dnt include my name.
Dis is my first pregnancy and am 10 months gone have passed my EDD, have done sweeping last week and am asked to come 4 inducing, hubby has gone out to start asking questions from other mothers and was told so many tins.  now he’s so scared of inducing and has ask me not to go that it is risky to the health of d child and painful.

Now he’s thinking of C-section which
i told him i will never go 4 cos i knw at the end i will definitely suffer after a C-section cos mum and mother in-law are late and no close relative, have asked an elderly woman in my church to help me with the bathing of my baby after delivery, goin for a C-section is like asking for too much.

mind u I have done a lot of exercises, lifted up heavy objects, vigorous s*x, even to the extent of running and nothing  is  working. Please I need help.

  1. I was induced due to hbp . I don't know what your hubby heard o! Its not the way you're making it sound. The pain is more than that of normal labour, but it was so fast for me. The whole thing for me was just 3hrs.
Pls,get it done with! The longer your baby stays in; the plancenta ages and it deprieves baby of good support.
Just make up your mind, whether CS or inducing. The Lord will be with you through it all. It is well with you and your baby.

  2. Just brave it, though Inducing labour can be painful and might also lead to CS after a while depending on how it goes. Bottomline is having a safe delivery (which is having a healthy baby and mother). Your doctor is in a position to decide, trust God and be strong. Was induced for my 2nd birth due to late EDD, heard all sorts but I chose to be positive about it, the child is 13 years now.

  3. I think u should be more concerned about the health of ur baby.are u really sure about ur last menstrual period(LMP) cos most women might not really rmber after such a long time.I ll advice u to do a scan ASAP,also, induction of labour is not a big deal as u make it sound. It is just to ripen ur cervix n ds ll in turn lead to contractions. It is when ds fails or there is a decrease in the baby's fetal heart that a C/S is done. The most important thing is to see ur Dr ASAP,am sure all I've highlighted is what he ll tell u.

  4. There's no big deal about induction, I did it and am glad though painful but it was fast. God be with you.

  5. My dear, forget about pain of inducing, and be brave. There is nothing as painfull as carrying a pregnancy for 9 months and going back home empty handed.
My advice is this, go and get induced, have ur baby and be happy. If it boils down to having a ceasarian, get it done and see ur baby.
The placenta is not equipped to nourish the foetus beyond 40 weeks. I was induced when i had my first baby and in 2 hrs time, my baby was out. When u see ur baby you forget all the pains.
Congratz in advance and God be with you. E.E

  6. being induced is very painful, but if you can brave it then you should go for it. cos by now, your amniotic fluid should be reducing and its not good for the baby and now all you should be thinking about is how to bring your baby safely into this world. good luck mama..

  7. Go and do the induction,it will hasten the delivery. Ur doctor know more than u do,i was induced and delivered with no complication. Mine was even 10months +. Just forget abt the pain and go for the induction. C/S is always done as the last resort. I wish u safe delivery.

  9. Pls make up ur mind quickly on the method u prefer. A friend of mine lost her baby after carrying it for more than 9months. They( she and her husband) where at this point of indecision. They had been advised to come 4 Induction but her husband said no that our mothers used 2carry pregnancy 4 11mths.

While waiting d baby died in d womb. She was still induced and CS was done 2 remove d big baby boy from her womb.

Pls dear, go 4 induction. You will normally be induced 10dys past ur EDD. All the best.

  10. Please tell your husband that if he can listen to other mothers who say it's painful, then he should listen more to the Doctor who says "that pain is the best thing for you baby at this time" Labour cannot be sweet even without induction.

He should have faith in God and your Doctor and go do what you need to do. Delay is not good for your baby. Pain won't kill you, it will help you give birth faster.

  11. Hahaha, sorry for my laughter,u just made me remember the first time I gave birth to my first child, hmmm, after lukin at me the doctor said I can't give birth without CS that my celvics abi pelvic is not adequate and I have already pass my EDD, I cancelled and rebuked the mouth that said CS,people where telling me that what the doctor says is the final and I rebuked them, I told them that my God is alive and for that I shall born like the hebrew women, first day pass, the next day the doctor came and told them to induce me, for where, my baby said I don't want to come out to this world yet, after hours of waiting they passed hot water through my annus streght into my body hmmm mothers u are two much, no sign yet, I decide to call my mother and ask how she gave birth to me then she told me that the doctor roptured her meaning using his hand to break the water that holds the baby,I told the doctor and she did it like that within 5mins of that oh God my baby was out. When the time for my second child reached and it was the same story I told the doctor and just like that. So pls Poster go for induce, maybe that is how u can deliver without CS,I wish u God's protection, u and the baby will be fine in due time.

  13. Please listen to the doctor. Induction or CS as long as the baby is okay. The health and safety of your baby is paramount and the longer the baby remains in there 2 weeks after your EDD then problems might set in.
    Don't stop praying.
You and your baby shall be fine by God's grace.

  14. R u sure od ur EDD, go for scan, modern scanning machine, shows u d date of delivery. If u r really over due, beta go 4 the induced labour. Labour has never being a walk in d park. Its not meant to be sweet, so be brave n go 4 it n stop suffering ur baby. Or go 4 CS its no big deal too. Ur husband can help u manage since ur mum is late. Afterall white pple don't do omugwo. U will manage. Concern mother.

  16. Hi poster I just had a baby and aside from that been in the medical profession means I can also advice u both from experience and professionally.
Firstly my baby came almost 10days post date and I had 3 episodes of cervical sweeping which did not help. I even begged for an induction as dats wat I would done if I was having the baby in Nigeria but since they have different protocols in Canada I was scheduled for an induction on Monday but I went into natural labor on Sunday night. Mind you my liquor was me continuum stained( meaning cos I was post date my baby was beginning to get distressed even despite having a normal labour. So the essence of this story, induction ain't a death sentence dere r several indications y ur dr wld advice dat u ve an induction- post datism , prolonged rupture of membranes and other. It's in ur benefit to have the induction done for ur baby health. It's a lil more painful as it speeds up the normal process of labour if the pain is an issue u can have an epidural. Above all trust God and you would be fine. N.B older women would always have somethg to say discuss with ur hubby and make a wise decision. God bless. Tjay

  18. You and your husband should not fear! You'll be perfectly alright.

My immediate sibling and I were birthed through inducing. Like others have said, it's very painful because it forces the uterus to contract and eject the baby out.

Like I said, you'll be good. My prayer for you is the baby should come before you go for the method both of you have chosen!

  19. Induction is very painful but u can endure. I understand dis happens in 1st pregnancies but I experienced mine in my 2nd preg. 41+ weeks. After 22hrs of war in which @ a point my baby started losing oxygen. But 2 d glory of God he cried in2 d world. But d ting with induction is once it fails u will have 2 undergo cs. Just put everything in2 God's hands. He has d final say. Declare 1 timothy 2:15 over urself and ur baby. And give us d good news once baby arrives. Muah! Iphy

  20. Anoda name for it is the "hot drip" it's a common practice and has no such negative implication(s)

It could be administered as such… (1st dosage) 5mil, if the baby is not out yet (2nd) 10mil and lastly 15mil before a CS could be considered.

    Good luck!
Baby is coming, have no fear… Jah has promised!

  21. Theres no biggie about induction of labour! Just pray that once the induction of labour starts,it will progress well. For my children,I was induced, and by the Grace of God,they are healthy babies.also about the pain of induction of labour, its just for that period, once you deliver your healthy baby, if its caesarian section, how about the after pains? Abeg if theres no indication for CS,I know no doctor will subgject you to it,except of course that's what you want.
I wish you a safe delivery. And please come and share the goodnews to WC family. All the very best.

  22. I can never advice any woman to go for induction! I went through hell in my first preggy…
My baby got depressed after 3days of intense labour… I saw heaven! Gosh! The pain was killing.. I wonder how a baby can survive in such a painful contraction…
Like I said, I almost lost my baby girl, after 3 days of series of induction, her fatal heart rate dropped! It was prayers that revived her… The nurses and doctors almost lost their legs running like mad to prepare C- section…
I ended up with CS after 3days of severe pain! It wasn't funny at all..
When my second preggy came, I didn't waste time at all, I signed for CS and it was someone else had my baby for me… I could move around the very next day and I was so strong that pple didn't notice it was a C-section. As far as I was concerned, that was a miracle!
My advice is, go for a CS… It isn't as painful as pple think.. Inducement is worse, cos u might end up in the theatre too after the unthinkable pain.. It's 50:50 chance… But CS is 98% sure…
If it is not normal labour, I say go for a C-section… That's my opinion! I dnt care what other pple has to say.. Though induction might work for you oh, but base on my experience, am not advicing it!
Forget the care u need after a CS, help will come in anyway, and u will survive! It takes just one week, and u're up on ur feet again! U can decide to spent that one week in the hospital, and the nurses will take care of you and ur baby…
Decide fast, cos baby's health is important here… Safe delivery darling! U'll be fine *kisses and hugs*

  26. I am a doctor working in the newborn unit and their is nothing as painful ad going thru pains, induction, late Cs and yet having no healthy baby to take home. Let me tel you what happens when you pass your due date: the placnta which supplies your baby oxygen and nutrition reduces in its ability to carry out its function effectively, your baby enters distress, passes that black stool( meconium) in the womb, swalows that, and gets a pyoblem doctors are afraid of " birth asphyxia" and from their u are not sure of taking a healthy or live baby home. If I were in your shoes, I would carry my sfuff into the hospital and ask for a consent form for elective Cs bcos pain can only be for a while but a healthy baby's smile erases it all in no time. Cheers, wishing you all the best

  32. Pls make up ur mind fast. Making up my mind fast kept my bundle of joy alive as he was already getting weak. Although he wasn't overdue but my labour wasn't progressing well…I was the one that even asked for the CS. I don't even want to imagine what would have happened if I had not asked cos the Dr was telling me to be patient, dat 1st babies take time.

I advice u opt for a CS cos if after the inducement u give birth vaginally n have tear,u would still need some1 to take care of u.

CS aint what it used to be. The matron made me stand n walk for some minutes in less than 24hrs. Had the operation by 2pm and 9am the next day I got up. She said I had to catwork small for her…when I get pregnant again am going to opt straight for a CS without trying to push. Its the safest as far as I am concerned.
Pls just sit with ur hubby n decide. Its all for ur baby.
Safe delivery madam. Having a baby is the best feeling in the world.

  35. At this point, all that is important to the doctors is your safety and the baby's safety so please let them handle it the best way they know how to.

And as far as your fears about CS are concerned, while I won't say they are unfounded, I need you to know that its not something you can't cope with. I'll use myself as an example. I did all I was told to do, stuck religiously to a healthy diet, did recommended exercises, prayed constantly and went through my copy of Supernatural Childbirth over and over again. Eventually, I had a 3.8kg breech baby and had to have a C-Section at 39 weeks cause the doctor said she would have just gotten bigger and bigger if we decided to wait for her to turn into the right position before birth.

So I was operated on, recovery wasn't easy but the fact that I had my baby and we were both alive and well made it worth it.

Do I regret doing all I did even though I didn't have the baby vaginally? No. Because I strongly believe that if I hadn't, things would have been a whole lot worse.

So, when you've done all you can and things still don't work out the way you planned, know that God has a reason for it and let go.

    All the very best
