An ORIGINAL application written by President Muhammadu Buhari to write an examination into the Nigerian army has surfaced online. The letter obtained by Premium Times showed that the army was referred to as the Royal army at the time and the president, in his own handwriting, stated his age and what academic qualification he had.
President Buhari who is in far away China on a four-day diplomatic visit, where he is strengthening ties between Nigeria and the Asian country, was an 18-year-old teenager at the time. Some Nigerians think, however, that little has changed about the president about 55 years after applying to join the soldiers.
some are of the opinion that he did not write the letter himself.
Naij.com also recently gathered five pictures that not only prove the president’s literacy, but that he is one of the people to have worn the camouflage of the Nigerian army.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian army on Wednesday, April 13, announced the commencement of recruitment for young officers who are interested in becoming soldiers.
