Pregnancy Is Past Expected Delivery Date, Can I Escape Being Induced?

How do I escape being induced as my pregnancy is past EDD?

Good evening everyone,  Please this is a personal question which I need advice to urgently. Pls help post on the blog, I also  need your very own advice ma. My pregnancy is  6 days past 39 weeks and labour is not forthcoming ,this is my first pregnancy.

DOCTOR TALKS ABOUT INDUCING THE BABY

The doctor told me they will have to induce me in the hospital if after 40 weeks and labour do not happens( heard it is very very painful). My questions are:
during my 37th week I crossed a busy road  with running a little, I then felt a gush of water from my vagina soaking my pant and a bit of discomfort in my  lower abdomen.

 I remember getting
very worried thinking I have broken my water. Now if I would like to induce myself naturally does that mean running will be ideal for me?(I heard some women induce themselves that way).

I tried the nipple stimulation and consuming lots of pineapple( which I read on wives connection) but it did not bring forth labour .  I seriously need advice as I don’t want hospital induction.

Are there any certain foods I should be consuming to help labour begin? I am thinking of going for castor oil consumption how safe it is pls?

Any exercises? Thank you mothers as I await responses.
Regards.
Tired Preggers in need of help to escape being induced at the hospital.

  1. Did you go to the hospital to ensure you really did not expel some amniotic fluid when you felt that gush of fluid? Jogging mldly may induce it sha. LADY EVA

  3. I was 40 wks and 5 days and the baby wasn't forth coming. Doctors in the UK don't induce until you are two wks past 40 wks unless there is reduced movement or some form of complications.
I was also tired of bn preggers. I danced, went for a walk and even had a cervical sweep by my midwife but nothing happened. So, I braced myself up for a very hot sex. Infact, we did the doggy style and it was intense. After abt an hour, i felt like i wanted to pass urine but by the time i got to the toilet, my water had broken. I call it sexy induction…lol.
Please watch out for baby's movement while you are waiting to be induced. Contact your doctor in case of reduced movement. Safe delivery in Jesus name (amen).

  6. In the uk if you lose amniotic fluid and do not go into labour after 24hrs you will be induced or a csection depending on the circumstances. DO NOT TAKE CASTOR OIL it is dangerous I repeat DO NOT TAKE IT, I will not tell you what has happened to other women so not to scare you. Your baby will come when he or she is ready. I know how you feel because I'm 37wks pregnant and I'm tired of being pregnant too. I have been getting period pains for the past 3 days and losts of pressure down there, through tout the pregnancy I have see no blood or nothing. This baby is just too comfortable o *sigh* his kicks are so painful these days.

Please be patient I know how you feel, let your baby come at the appointed time.

  7. If you lost some amniotic fluid, you should have told your doctor or gone to the hospital, because that can introduce infection into your uterus and that's not good for the baby.
However, at 39 weeks 6 days, your labour can still start on it's own naturally without any intervention. Ideally your doctor should give you until 41 weeks before talking about induction, that is, if there are no other pregnancy complications.
I was induced with my first child at 38 weeks because her heart rate was decelarating sometimes and the doc wasn't comfortable. I haven't had any other experience to compare it with, as I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant with the second. It was painful, but I dont believe it would have been less painful if i wasn't induced. Labour is painful. Period. So get with the program and just pray for a safe delivery for you and baby.

  8. I personally opted for the induction because if well monitored it saves you the stress of waiting for the long hours of dilation and all those medical terms. induction brings your baby sharp sharp and its not as if its that painful, so brace up girl and overcome your fears. You can if you believe you can. Best of Lucks in your safe delivery

It can be caused by other factors too like, blood incompatibility premature birth etc. Try Google for more…

  11. i had normal labour for 2days ,yet my baby refused to come until i was induced and she came within 1hr. Dear, its a little difference between the two o. One important thing though, they're both painful and induction is faster than normal labour.best of luck.
