1.2 Million Naira bride price plus completion of her father’s uncompleted building
Nigerians on Twitter are discussing Imo State bride price and their beautiful girls. The discussion started after Dr Ayeni shared his story. How he went with his parents to get the bride price and marriage list from would be In Laws in Imo State. He was given a bill of 1.2 Million as bride brice, showed his future Father In Law’s uncompleted building that has to be completed before his bride is released to him.
By the time they woke up the following day, he had taken a night bus, disappeared from Imo State and was already home in Lagos relaxing.
The tweets continued and he got asked “where is the girl now?”
“In her father’s house was the reply as they continue to argue about the high cost of marrying girls from Imo State and how it’s affecting the single ladies who remain in their fathers’ houses for too long waiting for suitors. How some eloped and others assisted their men to pay the expensive Imo State bride price.
