NIGERIAN CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE PIZZA CUT IN PIECES FOR SERVING

Our Nigerian chicken and sausage pizza is made with a blend of International and Nigerian ingredients. While the dough, sugar, salt, tomatoes and others are International ingredients, the yummy Nigerian seasoning cubes are one ingredient that’s added to almost all Nigerian cooking. 

Yaji powder is loved by Nigerian and found in our spicy meals. I made this chicken and sausage pizza from scratch in less than no time. It was very delicious and full of nutrition.

After clearing the pizza, the girls tell me not to bother about lunch because they just ate a balanced meal. Lol. The pizza made the Nigerian way of 
parboiling our seasoned meats before use, with Nigerian seasoning cube added for that Yummy Nigerian flavour.

 

 INGREDIENTS FOR CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE PIZZA DOUGH

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon semo or garri or cornmeal.
 
INGREDIENTS FOR CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE PIZZA TOPPING:

Pizza Topping

2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small green pepper
1 red bell pepper
1/4 teaspoon yaji ( Ground dried chillies mixed sometimes with dried beef)
2 teaspoons dried oregano
 1 medium sized tomato fruit
One  seasoning cub
1 tablespoon mayo
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
A half kg chicken
1 frankfurter sausage

1 pack sandwich/hamburger cheese


DIRECTION

1. Add the flour, sugar, salt and yeast in a bowl wand mix well.
2. Add the warm water and mix until dough ball is formed, cover and leave for 1 minutes and in the meantime, make the homemade pizza sauce if you don’t have sauce already.

Before you make the pizza sauce, wash and chop vegetables and set aside.
Wash and briefly Parboil chicken breast or any part with salt and onion (Do not add water).
Debone, shred the meats and set aside.
Cut the sausage in flat tiny circles and set aside.


HOW TO MAKE MY HOMEMADE CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE PIZZA SAUCE

 

  1. Stir fry the vegetables with the seasoning cube till onion is fragrant.
  2. Add the oregano, mayonnaise and stir, then add the ketchup and stir very well. 
  3. Lastly, add the sausages, stir and turn off the heat.

 

DIRECTION

1. Add the flour, sugar, salt and yeast in a bowl wand mix well.

2. Add the warm water and mix until dough ball is formed,  knead on a floured surface for 2 minutes.
3. Form a dough ball, cover and leave to rest for 10 minutes and in the meantime, make the homemade pizza sauce if you don’t have sauce already.
3. Now, bring out the dough and form into a circle or any shape of the baking tray you are going to use.
4. Roll dough briefly to flatten, then shape as you want.
5. Lightly grease the baking tray and spread the semo or garri on it.
6. Place flattened dough on the baking tray.
5. Spread the 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup starting from the middle then spread all round the

 pizza dough
.6. Spread the yummy pizza sauce
7. The cheese
8. The chicken toppings, sprinkle on a little oregano and bake for 15 minutes or till you are satisfied.
Cut and enjoy with family and friends.

That’s how we make make our simple but tasty chicken and sausage pizza.
