Happy Mothers Day.
I really dunno how many times a year we celebrate mothers day,I’ve deliberately decided to loose count. I guess it’s 3-4 times abi?
Well, if you ask me, I think mothers ought to be celebrated everyday. They never go on strike, nor do they retire, they never tire nor give up.
Here’s a toast to all the mothers, intending mothers, aspiring mothers, mothers to be, etc…
And a special prayer to all the women out there, who would love to be called mum. May heaven hear your prayers and open your womb .This year the Lord will put smiles on your faces, you shall hear cries of joy in your homes and we all shall rejoice with you in Jesus name.
And to all already mothers worldwide: May your seed never die. May you never be replaced on your day of joy. May you never be found wanting when celebration comes.
I love my mum.No apologies, She’s just the best.
I love all the women who helped mould me in one way or the other.
I love that nosy neighbour ( mummy Tawa) who reported me to my dad when she found me kissing a boy at the back of the water tank at age 16. ( the beating my dad gave me was epic).
I love my dad’s sister who taught me some of the things I now know in life ( even though, I learnt most of them with dirty slaps and ear twisting).
I love my grandma, she was never tired of hugging me and praying for me ( she still is). Love you grannie.
I love mumy Olamide, my mum’s friend. She told my mum not to give up on me, she said I was going to bring honour to them all. Well, how do you see me now mum? Didn’t I turn out well? ( prophecy fulfilled, lols). ( well, I was a bit stubborn as a growing up child #winks).
I love mumy Ghana, she lectured me about boys and menstruation at age 11. ( I was quite young then, but I will never forget what she taught me).
I love My former boss, she nagged me into becoming a better me, and now we’re the best of friends. ( wish I could mention her name here).
I love Anty Bisi, the only lady who drives keke napep on Unilag-Bariga axis. I hope she gets to read this. ( I wonder if she has an Internet enabled phone).
But I don’t love what a certain woman did to me when I was 22yrs old, she lied on me. I’ve forgiven her sha, even though she never asked for it. Yes, I love her now.
I also don’t love what mummy Deborah did too, she enjoys watching my dad beat me. She won’t even plead on my behalf. Always adding fuel to the fire. I was glad when she finally packed out of the compound. But, I love her now,and I miss her too. Lols.
I love Aunty Eya Ayambem, for giving me her platform and a chance to be on her team. Letting me in when she could have said no way. I’m eternally Grateful.
I love my elder sister: Tobiloba Ricketts, my priceless gem.
I love my bestFriend : Amina Lawal, my weedless garden.
I love all my sisters,my aunties, my girlfriends, my mentors ,all the women in my life.
I love my mother-in-law even though we have never met, I’ve not even met her son yet sef. But I’m sure she would like me,abi don’t you think so? Shout out to you mother in-law, I love you already.
I love all the women who are making waves and impacts in their circle of influence nationwide and worldwide. God knows your name and address. He will visit you all.
Most importantly, I Love me. I love the girl I left behind, the lady I am right now, and the woman I’m becoming.
I love the wife I will be.
I love the kind of mother I am. ( will be).
I love being a woman.
We all make earth live-able.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavour by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.
