Meghan Markle’s Christmas present to the Queen ended up being mauled by dog

The Queen Of England is probably one of the hardest people to buy a present for – and newly engaged Megan Markle had to do just that this Christmas.
It’s now been revealed that Meghan got her future grandmother-in-law a

singing toy hamster – which the Queen’s prize corgis went on to maul to pieces.

The Daily Star reports that her Majesty was so happy with the present that she burst out laughing, before remarking: “It can keep my dogs company.”
A source said: “Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty. “It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy.”
The royal family give each other presents on Christmas Eve as a reference to their German lineage and it’s thought that they do jokey gifts as they already have everything they could ever want or need.
The source revealed that they have a traditional way of arranging their presents, too. While Megan may have impressed with her gift, it seems she’s not going to get the chance to wear any of the crown jewels – yet .
Strict etiquette rules prohibit unmarried women from wearing tiaras – like the ones Kate is frequently spotted sporting.
And thus Meghan won’t be allowed to pop on a mini crown of her own until after she says “I do” with Prince Harry, 33, this spring. “Flashy diamonds and tiaras are not worn during the day, and only married ladies wear tiaras,” Etiquette expert Grant Harold told The BBC. “For married ladies it was a sign of status and would show you were taken and not looking for a husband,” the manners expert continued.
“For the gentleman it was a clear sign not to make advances toward the lady in question,” he added.
Harry and Meghan’s nuptials are scheduled for May 2018.
