Troubled Kanye West has been struggling because he hasn’t had wife Kim to lean on since her robbery, according to US reports.
On Monday, the 39-year-old rapper was advised by his doctor to seek medical help for “exhaustion” which has been brought on by all the strains in his life currently.
Kim has also been facing her own issues since being robbed at gunpoint in Paris two months ago, and reports claim the rapper’s hospitalisation has added more strain to their
“Kim has had a very rough time since the robbery,” a source told People magazine.
“It hasn’t helped that Kanye has been touring. Their lives have been quite chaotic. It’s been very trying for them both and not a good recipe for a happy marriage.”
They add that pre-robbery, Kanye was used to leaning on Kim but that all changed following the reality star’s terrifying ordeal.
“Kim [was] usually the more stable and strong person in the marriage. Kanye is used to leaning on her. Since Kim has had her own issues to deal with, the roles have been reversed. Kanye has had to stay strong to support Kim, and it’s like he can’t handle it anymore.”
Meanwhile, Kanye’s close friend John Legend has admitted he is worried about the rapper.
John told CBS This Morning: “We were with Kim [Kardashian West; Kanye’s wife] actually, you know, right before all of that. I was concerned by what I saw, so hopefully he’s getting some rest and some time to figure things out.”
And the 37-year-old singer hopes Kanye, 39, will get the rest he needs.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he added: “I’m not gonna speak out of term and speak for him. All I can see is what [Kanye] said to the public – and that is he’s tired and needs some rest.
“I think he’s been through a lot lately with what happened to Kim. I think if he needs to rest, I think his fans will be patient and let him rest. He’ll come back stronger, hopefully … He’s the one that signed me, he’s the one that helped discover me and help me get a record deal. I wouldn’t be where I am now without him. I am very grateful to him.”
