How To Make Doughnuts At Home, Recipe By Moji

 

Ingredients:

 

3 cups flour

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon yeast

50 grams butter or shortening

1/2 teaspoon salt

Oil for deep  frying

1 and 1/2 cups water

 

This is how to make doughnuts at home.

Below is the list of  ingredients for this doughnuts

(Shop professional measuring cups and spoons)
Measure all your dry ingredients into a mixing bowl

Gradually add water till it comes together then add your shortening or butter while mixing ( Shop mixer).

Knead for a few minutes then cover and allow to rise in a warm place for about an hour.
After an hour see where it has reached in the mixing bowl​.
Slap onto your work surface and deflate the air.
With your clean rolling pin, roll it out but not too thin about the thickness of a cookie is ideal Use a pastry cutter or any round object to cut out circles.

 Like so

 

Gently place on a  lightly floured baking tray.
  

 

To get the hollow shape, use a smaller circle like a bottle top to cut out the middle

Cover and allow to rise a bit for about 20 minutes
  
Fry in low to medium heat on a stove.

  3. Sure you can. You may lightly brush with oil to help it brown and have a shine or leave it out all together. It'll certainly be healthier.

  4. The white stuff is powdered sugar. You can buy or pour some sugar in the mill attachment of a blender (the one normally used for egusi) and blend till it becomes powdered sugar. The drizzle I used was cream and cocoa powder / cream and peanut butter. Any other thing you like will also work.

  5. Yes you can bake for a healthier option. To add jam you will need a piping bag if you don't have one you can try using a funnel with a narrow tube or something similar. Same if you would like ketchup

  7. Thank you sis, i just tried this donut recipe and it turned out really nice,I felt like a pro! Though I almost got frustrated when trying to transfer the doe to the tray it was so sticky but I later got the hang of it and kudos to your daughter I have started engaging my children in the kitchen as well.Thanks
