See how Google helped me confirm the drugs I got prescribed at the pharmacy this morning. I feel great already and ready to post. Life is getting easier and better even though the Economy won’t let people smile from the belly. Today is the first time I used Google to confirm my drug prescription (Medications) and I feel so happy. Have always used Google to do researches but NEVER checked anything about my medications. I know there are people who do this for every drug they swallow.
WHY I DID A GOOGLE CHECK ON THE DRUGS PRESCRIBED FOR ME
So, I can’t stand cold weather and Abuja has been too cold in the past few days. This morning, I woke up with strong pain on my sides that just hooks me, and releases again. It comes so strong I can’t even move, then goes just like that to reappear again. Washing my hands with cold water made it even worse.
When I got to the pharmacy, he himself wasn’t there yet but the cashier, sales boys, nurses and other staff were all present. I needed to see the pharmacist himself and couldn’t endure this pain sitting in a drive to even the nearest hospital. When they said he won’t be coming early and that they can take care of me, I looked at them, unsure of who exactly to trust and explain.
As soon as I finished describing the pain, they suspected Pneumonia and told me not to worry that they’ll give me good medications.
Once seated in the car, I decided to have a little conversation with Google to be on the safe side. With the results shown, I quickly made up my mind to share on the blog for others. Others, especially new mums who send mails describing the rash on their babies skin and how the medications are making it worse or not affecting any change.
Well, when we get prescribed medications for our little ailments, there is nothing wrong with trying to use Google to verify a few things. All great hospitals and clinics abroad and in Nigeria here all have websites now.
BE SURE OF THE WEBSITES YOU CHECK WITH
There are websites that you know are the Authorities on this subject and not every site that shows up. Thankfully, Google makes the job easier by ranking the authority websites higher in search results.
When I check for medical terms/ issues, I like to open results from websites like mayo clinic, cleveland clinic,
Web MD, healthline.com, pharmacytimes, drugs.com and many others BUT not just any website that pops up.
Well, I may not know all the medical terms and won’t bother my head with them at all. What I wanted was to see that Cefuroxime I got prescribed by the boys is among drugs that can treat Pneumonia. It’s there and that’s all I need to know for now. Although checking Google made me feel like there are other stronger medications for pneumonia, than Cefuroxime but, no problems at all.
I got home, ate and immediately took the drugs. Honestly, I’m here typing in front of the laptop and sharing the story because there is relief. I feel a lot better.
In conclusion, let me just remind us here that there is no limit to the knowledge we can acquire these days. There is no limit to what we can search on Google because honestly, EVERYTHING is on Google. Just use the right terms. Ask Google the right questions (Paying attention to Keywords) and you get all the answers delivered to you right on your bed in the confines of your room.
That’s how checking on Google has helped me confirm that I’m on the right track. I’m sharing to help us reduce the number of times we ask some of these these questions on Social Media. Google can give the right answers in a matter of seconds.
Have you ever used Google to check on your prescriptions?
