Egg Plant Sauce With Crunchy Snails And Boiled Yam

Egg Plant Sauce With Crunchy Snails And Boiled Yam
Crunchy Peppered snails.

Try serving peppered snails with egg sauce and see the difference. I blended these eggplants and I think that affected the
colour. When I pound eggplants, they do not turn this dark. Anyway, taste and nutritional value not affected by colour.

  • Fresh egg plants/Aubergine/Garden egg. You can use any garden egg of choice.

  • Boiling the washed and cut egg plants in a pot with just water and some salt

  • Frying ground crayfish and onions

  • I will stick to pounding eggplants cos I didn’t like this blended colour

  • Adding pepper

  • Cooked Snails are drained and stir fried in a fry pan with pepper and onion

Egg Plant Sauce With Crunchy Snails And Boiled Yam
  • Highly nutritious peppered snails, excellent for those cutting down on red meat, diabetics and all who want to eat healthy
  • Boiled yam served with egg plant sauce and crunchy peppered snails
    Enjoy

Pounding the garden eggs is better because it leaves some fibre in there.  You can also remove the skin after boiling the garden egg before pounding, that’s if you want a very brightly coloured pot of garden egg. This can be served with dodo, rice or boiled unripe plantain.
Aunty Anonymous, please don’t jail me for posting this sauce o.
Manage it like that till next time.

  3. Looks very tasty. Try mashing the egg plant next time, instead of blending or pounding. It isn't soup, and is actualy better when the egg plant is lumpy. Well done.

  6. Aunty Eya its a shame I don't eat snails but I like the look of it with the yam and egg plant sauce. Hubby loves snails so I'll try this.
I usually boil and mash garden eggs, then fry in pepper sauce with some sardines or makerel when I make garden egg sauce. It goes really well with green plantain.
Are auibergines and eggplant the same thing?

  12. Yes, Balogun market, mothercare line. If you need to buy everything, as in everything, then budget like 120k, it might be more or less depending on what you buy.
Lemme make a list for you based on what I can remember.

For Baby: You need to buy diapers (size 0-3kg),wipes,baby lotion, soap & sponge, methylated spirit, cotton wool (dele product),comb, olive oil (big size), vest shorts, cat suits, shawl & flannels, sweaters, blankets, caps and socks, towels, mouth wipes, bibs, dettol or savlon, baby cot,car seat, umbrella… Don't buy too many in cloths for 0-3 months, babies grow very fast.

For mummy: These are what you need to take with you to the hospital. Sanitry pads (ladyset product, at least 4 packs), disposable pants, towel, nursing bras, night wear, bathing soap and sponge, toothbrush & paste, bathroom slipers, wrappers, hair net, hot water flask. Phew! I can't remember any1 again. Hope this helps.
Wishing you safe delivery in advance. Congrats.

  13. 1.Use mouthwash(e.g Colgate mouthwash)
2.Use a cotton wool soaked in a solution of salt in warm water to swab all d corners of her mouth and she can gaggle some of the warm salt solution.
U can do these 2 things for her morning and night.
I hope this works for ur pretty daughter.
Then see a dentist to be sure there's no underlying disease.

  17. Hello Anon 7.46PM, I'm a dentist. Its a good thing you noticed it early. That said, there are several things that could cause mouth odour and so, many things you can do.
First, everyday food: foods like garlic, raw onions and some really strong spices. these foods have really strong smells and contain the compound that causes mouth odour. So, you can reduce the intake of these especially if you tend to give her raw.
Tooth brushing habit: Well Done on that too! please don't forget to brush her tongue because a lot of bacteria that are involved in producing this odour live on the tongue. Also, the brushing at night should be the last thing she does before going to bed. Any intake of food, especially sweet substances defeat the purpose of brushing at night.
Other health Problems: Many other health problems within the body show up in the mouth. Does she constantly have colds, catarrh, chest or breathing problems? these are also causes of bad breath. You may need to see an ENT doctor as stated by Tokoni. Other health challenges e.g. diabetes, lung disease, kidney disease(which probably don't apply to her) also cause bad breath. Also, in connection to this is chronic medications which some children have to take for some medical conditions; these medications are made sweet and so can cause holes in the teeth. these holes keeps food in them which can begin to smell after some time.
See a dentist: who can check for holes, gum disease, dry mouth among others which can cause bad breath. Besides routine scaling and polishing (our own teeth cleaning with instruments) can do wonders
Many people have advised the use of mouthwash. We do not subscribe to this for several reasons: mouthwash only masks the breath and doesn't deal with the problem; mouthwashes can cause a brownish stain on teeth with prolonged use.
In all, see a dentist ASAP. I hope you find this useful.
