In a way I did feel like Manny deserved to win that fight. He did a great job and because I didn’t want to hear it from a third party, I almost did not sleep at all that night. I was the last person to go to bed at about midnight and by 2 am when the generator came on (NEPA has been doing really really well, but that night of all nights, there was no light and it’s understandable. I’ve never enjoyed electricity like now. Sometimes we forget that there is a generator after not needing it in months. I get electricity everyday and night, even though there is still room for improvement, kudos to NEPA (PHCN). I remember when we used to buy generator fuel on a daily basis, lol).
So,I hear the generator come on before 2 am and suspect hubby wants to start watching that fight so I joined him to start with the Highlights and build up to the match. We watched till about 4 am Nigerian time before the fight started. Floyed Mayweather obviously was very defensive, covering his face like he was scared of Manny Pacquiao not until his Father shouted the nonesense ‘fear’ scary cat out of him. After his father’s “scolds’ he actually really stood up to Manny with heavy blows I couldn’t bear to look. Before now, Manny was beating Mr Money Team. It was around the 11th and 12th rounds that he picked himself up and fought like a defending Champion.
After the fight, I immediately told hubby that they didn’t really take me
there. Yes. Hearing it’s the fight of the century, all the Hipe and money spent and made? that talk made me very very expectant of moments where I’ll scream and jump off my seat but there were none. There was no WHAT? moment, everything was just very normal and I didn’t get all the entertainment I expected ( maybe I expected too much). Happy I watched at home and didn’t have to pay in dollars. The fight was just there considering these were two World Champions fighting.
I think that Manny deserved to win because he engaged Mayweather more even though he got harder blows at the right spots according to hubby. Anyway, he explains to me that in boxing, Manny really needed to beat the Defending champion really well, like beat him to a pulp to qualify to take the crown but that kind of beating didn’t happen sha.
Ok, I would have loved to know if you agreed with his Aunt but how many women watch boxing sef unless our gentlemen are ready to share their thoughts too…

Boxing is a sport, and like most sports there is a scoring system. It may not have looked pretty but that is Mr. Mayweather's style of boxing. It has made him a champion with an undefeated record. If something works keep using it, no matter what the world has to say about it. Pacquiao's aunt needs to learn more about boxing. Sure her nephew has plenty of heart and lots of other positive attributes, but that's not what wins in the ring.
