After a hard days’s work, everyone looks forward to hitting the bed at night and falling asleep right?
Going to sleep can be really difficult for me sometimes. No matter how hard I try, my brain just refuses to shut down.
Even with eyes closed, the mind or… is it the brain? whatever it is I do not know. It just refuses to
shut down. everyone is asleep and even snoring beside you.
On this particular nights, instead of the eyes sleeping off, they’d rather become hot as a result of being shut for a long time.
When it gets to a point where the eyelids are hot and struggling to pull themselves apart, “I mean to open”
I just say “ok, now I know that this is going to be a looooong night.”
I just discovered what really works for me! And to be honest with you, it is also working for the girls when they find it difficult to go to sleep.
Once I hear any of them call out, “mommy, I need the sleeping balm” lol, I just grab my phone and head to their room.
There are a few inspirational, very slow songs saved in my phone. So, when sleep refuses to take me away, I go straight to playlist1, turn down the volume to the minimum, and press “play all” mmmmmm…. then place it beside the bed and try to listen to every word in the lyrics.
This has failed neither me nor the kids (hubby sleeps off as soon as he rests his head on a pillow). Before the end of the first song, I can’t say what really happens but I wake up much later to turn the music off and continue sleeping with ease.
For the girls, I just wait by the door and before I count 1 to 30, the room is quiet and then, I sneak in and pick up my phone. tadaaaa.
sleep is very sweet!!
I can relate to dis. Although mine is listened to wit earpiece. Lost in my own world
I don't like listening oo..I jst roll on my bed
loool reading a book on the bed works perfectly for me.
