Basmati rice with tequila sauce.
Morning Aunty Eya, here is the presentation i told you about. First of all sorry I didn’t take pictures I had lots to do that Saturday and no time for pictures.
Two things inspired me to make this meal,
No1. A dinner in a Chinese restaurant with family and
family friends, the food was so tasteless and bland, in short i was even more upset when i saw the bill, I was angry with myself because i know that i could do better with little money.
No2. My favorite programme, chopped on food network, the Judges judge based on presentation, creativity and taste, have seen lots of wonderful chefs chopped because of presentation so i decided that i was going to take my time to make the dish presentable ( some people eat based on what they see) when i was done, i was surprised the food tasted good, it was superb.
Hubby and all that ate enjoyed it and i also enjoyed the accolades i received.
INGREDIENTS:
TOMATOES
ONIONS
GREEN PEPPER
RED PEPPER
GARLIC
CHOPPED CHICKEN BREASTS
OLIVE OIL
SALT
MAGGI
TEQUILA
BASMATI RICE
MUSHROOMS (OPTIONAL)
PROCEDURE FOR BASMATI RICE WITH TEQUILA SAUCE
Get 3 or 4 fresh tomatoes with tatase and atarodo (if you want it to be pepperish) blend them together with a little garlic depending on whether or not like garlic.
pour the paste into a pot and allow to boil until the whole water is out, then fry the paste with a little bit of olive oil, add spices to taste.
In another pan, chop the chicken breast into cube sizes,
chop some garlic and pepper add a little bit of salt and maggi and stir fry the chicken breast with little olive oil till it is half done.
pour the stir fried chicken into the paste add little water add your tequila to your required taste, i put about 3 to 4 covers of the tequila.
Allow to boil put your vegetables into the sauce and leave for about 2 minutes.
turn off the gas and your sauce is ready.
To decorate the plate, i made salad with lettuce base and some mushrooms. Then served the dish with croissant and apples, my own little dessert and appetizer.

Nice one but next time add a little dark soy sauce to it, chinese always use it in making there sauce. It will give it that rich dark red and lovely taste.

This is a 10/10 presentation! Deborah I'm so glad I've seen someone like me that likes 'presentation' a lot too o. At a point I thought maybe something was wrong with me. Common indomie, eba o and other small small food, I will spend time trying to make the 'presentation' good (while those that need to eat will be shouting "Just bring it like that"). Lol. Smh.
I never bothered with rice presentation, but I've learnt it from you today. Thanks. #bookmarked 🙂
This looks just like a photo from food network itself! Very professional-looking. Well done Deborah.
Thanks mason's mum, I actually prefered it to the initial chinese I had!
Thanks, yes it is! Have tried it with milk, the next will be with wine.
Wow. Those are my favorites. Chopped and Cake boss.
Nice presentation. Looks yummy.
Thanks!
Eya, please go and learn five star presentation. Ahn ahn!!!
Funny Aunty Eya. Lolzzzzzz
Where can one get fresh mushrooms? I dislike canned ones.
hich kind of rice dem dey call basmatic
Basmatic is a long grain foreign rice, U'll find basmati rice mostly in super stores.think it contains less starch. Hmmmmm yummmmy! I love basmati rice anyday!
Mi likey… Basmatic Rice also good for chinese prawns fried rice. Good work Deborah. Like the fact that you presented it like na some fancy resturant person wen chow am at. Nice.
Good job Sis Debbie..I especially love the presentation. I always try my best @ presentaion when deres so much time to do that.
I'll really love to make this this weekend for my mom. She's been complaining of tomato stew all the time for sunday rice. This is a healthy twist and I'm sure she'll like it.
The only issue is the tequila. I don't knw if the peak milk substitute will taste good. Shey its d liquid peak milk evaporated abi its powder? I jst hope it comes out well.
Thanks guys, sorry hv bad network can't reply each comment individually! @jay I didn't use to take my time 4 presentation oo just weekends! @Anty Eya am learning frm u oo! @anon 7:50 depends on the state you reside in, check any good supermarket. @missswayer thanks, make the prawns fried rice pls lemme learn. @bislondy thanks. @cherry jo thanks, check out the pics of the former gravy sauce I made, with peak milk, but I didn't put tomato in that one! You can use liquid peak or any fresh liquid milk! Just keep tasting it while adding, wish u d best.
Pls Deborah or Anty Eya post the link of the earlier gravy with milk. Thanks
