How to make shredded chicken soup for rice, spag or macaroni or any pasta of choice.
INGREDIENTS to make shredded chicken soup for rice
1 large red onion
2 green peppers
1 cup shredded cabbage
2 large carrots
Seasoning cubes to taste
Salt to taste
Water
Before you cook this soup with shredded chicken and vegetables:
First wash and shred the carrots, cabbage and green peppers and set aside.
Chop the onion too and set aside.
COOKING STEPS FOR SHREDDED CHICKEN SOUP
- In a greased cooking pot, add the onion and green peppers and a seasoning cube. Stir till onion becomes translucent. If you are a pepper liker and would love to add other peppers, add them now at this point. Next, add the cabbage.
- Let the cabbage cook for about a minute before adding the shred carrots into the pot and stir.
- Then the chicken now comes in with a pinch of salt on it. Cover and leave to cook for about 3 minutes before stirring.
- Finally, check for taste, add some water or stock to make it soupy. Check for salt again and add if needed. Serve with rice or pasta and enjoy it.
- Note: can be changed into shredded chicken gravy just by thickening with some flour.
