This is how we make chicken breast with sweet potatoes for babies from 6 months or when the baby starts to get introduced to solid food. They need proteins even more than we do and can’t chew meats. Chicken breast is the best proteinous foods you can make for babies.
It’s a balanced meal that can make even your picky cutie eat so well and make you happy.
Sweet potatoes give it that natural sweetness that babies love.
When chicken breast is properly cooked, the flavours of the ingredients penetrate deep and turn bland chicken breast to a pot of flavours. To prepare chicken breast for babies, we don’t add pepper until the baby is like one then we start introducing like pinch of peppers for vitamins and flavours. For now, you can add
green bell pepper and other sweet peppers but not our local spicy ones that can burn sef.
I am yet to see a baby that doesn’t love this chicken breast meal. It doesn’t take time to make and the vegetables added can be any vegetables from carrots, onion, tomatoes, Sweet potatoes to any other green vegetable of choice but please try to avoid uziza at this stage of their lives. Adding uziza leaves will just turn the chicken soup to chicken pepper soup and can upset the little baby’s stomach or purge them.
So, keep pepper away for now till a bit later.
When I buy chicken breast to make for babies, we go for
frozen chicken because that’s the only way one can get as much chicken breast as you want. I just buy packs of chicken breast and keep frozen. When we need to make for baby, we take out a park, let it thaw and then proceed.
In my house, adults don’t let the babies enjoy their food when it comes to this chicken breast soup. The adults carry their long throat and join inside until the pot as clear as soon as baby’s portion is scooped out. Lol.
