How to make good chicken suya pizza

Chicken suya pizza is made with a generous amount of chicken suya as topping. Chicken suya pizza is real pizza with Nigerian flavour, the type of pizza you eat and begin to think that pizza originated from Naija, no. I wanted to taste pizza with that Nigerian spicy thing and
decided on suya pizza, if you have tried any of my pizza recipes, the method is almost the same but with a different topping.

The best reviews for this pizza came from hubby who taste one slice given him by the girls, immediately sent for me and said that ‘honestly, this is the best pizza I have eaten in years’ Knowing he loves spicy foods, I asked if it’s because of the peppered suya and he says ‘It’s everything’
I feel so good already.

Try this chicken suya pizza and tell me you didn’t  take an extra slice, lol. Another eater revealed that this is the second time he is eating pizza that he really enjoys!

To make good chicken suya pizza, get correct chicken suya if you cannot make some. I got this chicken suta from Yahuza suya and it has every ingredient in the right proportion. If you live in Abuja, you’ll know already that yahuza suya it is.

I used it and my suya pizza is the best I tell you. If you have ever tasted any pizza anywhere that you really loved, try this suya pizza and see for yourself.

Spreading suya on pizza before baking in the oven.

INGREDIENTS  FOR SUYA PIZZA DOUGH:

2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
200 ml water
1 teaspoon soya oil
Semo, garri, cornmeal or polenta for baking
 tray.


INGREDIENTS FOR Chicken SUYA PIZZA SAUCE:

1 medium sized red onion
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large green bell pepper
 1/2 teaspoon dried rhyme
 2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
1/2 seasoning cube
1 tablespoon My salad cream
1 tablespoon ketchup  

INGREDIENTS FOR SUYA PIZZA TOPPING:
1 roasted chicken shredded into suya with suya spices added (1 wrap suya)
Mozzarella cheese( I used sandwich cheese this time)

HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN SUYA SAUCE:

1. Stir fry the pizza sauce vegetables; green pepper, onion, thyme, oregano, seasoning on low to medium heat till a bit fragrant.
2. Next, add the salad cream and mix well.
3. Add the ketchup and stir very well and your sauce is ready. You can add as much ketchup as you want.

SUYA PIZZA PROCEDURE:

  1. Add the flour, salt, sugar and yeast into a bowl, add the water and mix well with a wooden spoon or your hands. Knead on a lightly floured surface for about 3 minutes.
  2. Form a ball and leave in a  lightly greased bowl for 10 minutes.
  3. Bring it out and flatten to your desired shape or the shape of your baking tray. Round pizza shapes are popular.
  4. Sprinkle some semo, garri or polenta on the baking tray and drop the flattened pizza on it.
  5. Spread ketchup on the tray.
  6. The sauce on the ketchup
  7. Spread some cheese
  8. Spread the shredded suya after picking out bones if any.
  9. You can spread a bit more cheese again on top before baking in a preheated oven for 15 minutes or till you are satisfied. I baked in a pizza oven so, didn’t need to preheat.
  10. Serve with a chill drink. I served with my famous guinea corn kunu drink.
  11. Enjoy with family and friends.
