Hello, this time around I want to sit down and learn from the best. Abuja is too hot oooo. For those
in Lagos we say Lagosians, For those of us in Abuja, what do we call? Abujans (Which is correct? Abujalites?) Anyway, we spend so much on ice cream for kids. I’d like to be able to make my ice cream and store in the Freezer for kids and me. The heat is so much sometimes it feels like one is going to melt. To experience this heat, wind down a little between 1 and 3PM.
I was wondering if a lady could teach us how to make ice cream, any simple ice cream. To second my motion, this comment came in:

Recipe:Egg,Icing Sugar,liquid Milk,
Method: Whisk the Egg white please without egg yolk, till it becomes foamy and white.
Add milk and Icing sugar and whisk together till it becomes fluffy.
Refridgerate it and it is ready for consumption.
I make ice cream at home. And its very simple to make.
Ingredients: Evaporated milk
Raw eggs
Granulated sugar
Flavour (optional, e.g, vanilla flavour)
Procedure. 1. You add your evaporated milk, e.g peak milk to an empty bowl, add sugar to your evaporated milk nd egg white(the white part of the egg without yolk). Then you can add your flavour but itz rily optional
2. The next thing one needs to do is use a whisk to whisk the mixture, either the manual or the electric one, whisk the mixture until it becomes very white nd formy.
3. Put in the freezer nd our ice cream is ready for consumption.
I'm in school now nd we don't cook in my school, would have sent a step by step picture. Hope you all understand me. You can try yours and send pictures to aunty Eya so she can post it here. Testimonies also welcomed. Thanks
This is actually my 1st time commenting here. I always learn from this Blog but I have never commented here, but I think I got an idea of this particular post, so I decided to help.
Busayo…
Granulated sugar n icing sugar, r they d same thing? Pls wat quantity of each 'ingriendients' can 1 use? Cn I beat all d ingriedients 2geda wt my spoon or mus it be 'beaten' wt machine? Tnx!
Ok now, thank u Busayo & anonymous. Aunty Eya, u knw u are my teacher*wink*…pls do ur own first so that i'll follow suit*big grin*
Granulated sugar is not as smooth as the icing sugar, with icing sugar u will not need to whisk for too long but with sugar u will whisk a little longer, moreso, the taste differs if u have really tried it.icing sugar gives soft taste while sugar gives a kind of 'coax' taste. But they are both okey to use depending on ur preference. As per quantity i cant really say depending on the amount of ur preparation maybe u should try 1 evaporated milk to i cup of icing sugar,2 eggs and any of the flavour u prefer.
…..Cyndrella
I will try ds. Tnx
Can water be added to the mixture? Thanks
Thanks Cyndrella, made mine last night, it came out really nice. Will post pics soon.
Ok o, thanks Busayo and Cyndrella. Mine was lovely. It's all frozen this morning. Will try and post pics.
After using this title already, now I'm thinking of a suitable Title when I post the one I MADE LAST NIGHT.
I made it yesterday and it was really nice. The only thing is that there was more milk. It would be nice to have measurement as in what quantity to use.
I posted my vanilla ice cream pictorials, Ahdaisy posted bananas, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry recipes with step by step pictorials.
Check TODAY 29TH MARCH and yesterday 28th March Blog Updates. I posted some yesterday and some this morning. Very simplified steps.
